So, it's the BIG game on the BIG screen! Bring lots of food to share, you know, the party food kind of stuff. We want to pig out all night, and watch the game.

Don't like football? Come anyway and bring a game to share (along with your food), and we will play games as well.

Leave whenever you want, but we start at 6:00 and you have to leave when the game is over.

I missed you all this week when I was gone on Sunday! I was able to go and celebrate my niece's 1st birthday and it was a good time to be with family. Carlise had a great time and loves her uncle Nate best!

No youth group Sunday. We will be on our way back for Blitz.

REFUGE Wednesday will be 7:00-8:30 and we are having a game night, so bring any of your new games from Christmas.

NEWS:

We are still in kind of a transition stage in youth group right now. It looks like we are going to be going with the whole REFUGE thing. Those of you who have been around seem really enthusiastic about it, and want to go with it, so we will. Most things are going to remain the same, as far as what to expect when you show up on Wednesday or Sunday.

The time on Sunday is changing a bit. Children's program is going to be changing their start time to 4:00, so we are moving our time too. Refuge Sunday will start at 4:00 and go till 5:30. This includes Express at 5:00. So whether or not we have Express that week, we will be going from 4:00 till 5:30 on Sundays.

One little thing I need to bring back up..... pick up times. For our scheduled weekly events, i do my best to be finished at the stated time. if I schedule something from 4:00-5:30, i'll be done at 5:30. So let's all try and make sure our rides are here at 5:30 on sundays and 8:30 on Wednesdays (especially). Both days are really long days and it's nice to be able to get home and relieve my wife as soon as I can. She REALLY appreciates when I get home pretty close to the end of group time. I realize stuff comes up every now and then, just try and let me know. I may not answer my phone, but you can leave a message or send a text to 606.207.4626. Back to School??

so, tomorrow (wednesday the 13th) is our super duper back to school extravaganza with FBC. a couple things will be going on there. We'll definitely play some games, we'll give you a quick run down of things to come, AND you finally get amazing race stuff... i think... that was in Dusty's hands. so make sure you come on out and extravaganza with us!

another thing....

Sunday was awesome! seems like those of you who were here were really excited about the new direction youth group is taking. In case you weren't there, here's the run down:

You all know that one of my soap box issues is that you all need to treat each other with respect and dignity especially at youth group. I have also said that if you want to be mean to people or make fun of them that you should really just now show up to youth group because most people can get that at school if they want it. bottom line is that youth group is going to be a safe place where people know they can come and learn more about their walk with Christ without being made fun of, picked on, or left out. youth group is a REFUGE, and we are REFUGEES that are being sent out into the world to make a difference in the name of Christ.

that's only the tip of the iceberg folks. there is much more for us to look at and work on. I have visions and expectations for our group to grow and to be going out into the schools and community and making difference and being different in that you are NOT the ones making fun and are the ones that are there for others.

we've got a couple more sundays to work this out a bit more.
