Nathan Howard lives in Coupeville with his wife and four young children. He has worked in government at the national, regional, and local levels since 2006. He worked for Island County as a long-range planner and during that time served as the AFSCME Local 1845 Union President, successfully negotiating two union contracts. Nathan is a combat veteran, having honorably served two tours in Afghanistan as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. He currently is a transportation planner for Snohomish County, working to make the county more walkable and bikeable. Nathan attended the University of Washington where he earned degrees in community engagement and facilitation, and infrastructure planning and management. Nathan is an active part of the Coupeville community, volunteering regularly for local organizations.
